PRECEDENT STUDY
Stöðin / Krads
Architect: Krads
Location: Borgarnes, Iceland
Area: 484.02 meter square
Project year: 2012
“Stöðin”, a roadside stop in the Icelandic countryside, is a conjoined restaurant, drive-through, convenience store and gas station.
Icelandic culture is in many ways shaped by American influences due to the 65-year long presence of an American army base in the country. Stöðin addresses this cultural relationship by incorporating architectural elements from the American diner that contrast the traditional Icelandic building method of in situ cast concrete. The exposed concrete of the exterior bestows the diner with a permanence unknown by its American counterparts creating a friction between its streamlined aesthetics and the rusticmateriality gravity.
An elongated bar-desk transforms into seating arrangements and characterizes the semicircular restaurant, which offers panoramic views of the scenic fjord Borgarfjörður.

This assignment is a group work and need to study about two restaurant with different type of spaces layout.
BigWich
Architects: Design Equilibrium
Area: 925 ft²
Year: 2016
Bigwich is a fast food restaurant which served vegetarian food in a comfortable informal setting, a setting which feels and is accessible to all cadres of society, where the outlook of the project does not depict or is least suggestive of any certain style or form of interiors.
We choose Bigwich as our precedent study because this is a good example on design a linear layout. It is also has a good design on the interior space to take care the feeling of the users inside.
